Diabetic Diet Sheet? Some people with diabetes might be uncertain of what a diabetic diet sheet is. Even though it is not always necessary for you to have a diabetic diet sheet , it is a really good idea. With this sheet you are basically able to be keeping record of what you are eating, so that you can take note of your condition along with that and see when you are doing well, and when you are not.
With the sheet, you are going to be able to notice all patterns, and relate this with your diet. A lot of diabetics do not recognize it, but the foods that they are eating have a incredible effect on their condition largely and they can actually even end up killing themselves if they are not eating healthily and not eating the foods that they supposed to eat. Eat Healthier: The smallest change is to eat healthier: More fresh fruits and vegetables, more fresh meat, fish and poultry (lean cuts) and less fruit juices and processed foods. More crackers and fewer chips. More whole grain breads and pasta and fewer white, processed flours. More brown rice and less white. Low or non fat milk, cheese, yogurt, salad dressings. Eat less often of cakes, cookies, pies, sodas, ice cream, etc. and preferably low fat, sugar free varieties if possible. You just have to control the way you eat. This isn't as difficult as people think. Food Exchanges from the American Diabetes Association make it quite easy to categorize your foods and know how much of each you should eat. There are some general classifications to help you to get started. Fats include butter, margarine, oils and nuts. Proteins include meats, fish, poultry, eggs, milk and cheese (milk and cheese are high in fat). Carbohydrates include bread, beans, cereal, grains and potatoes. Sugars are refined carbohydrates and should be eaten in very limited amounts. All fresh vegetables are " allow " because they are high in fiber and nutrients without being high in fats, carbs, etc. All packaged foods have labels that tell you how large a serving is and how many carbs, sugars, proteins, fats, calories are in a portion. This is more important to read before buying it. Portion Size is easy to figure for foods. If you learn the exchanges and portion sizes for given foods you never have to count carbs, calories, etc. Just look at what you're eating. Final Thoughts: This diabetic diet sheet is aimed to help you to keep a healthy diet by focusing on the main categories associated with weight gain in diabetics.
